Plastic-free by design

MIRUM was developed by Natural Fiber Welding, a materials company based in Peoria, Illinois. It was created as an answer to leather alternatives made with plastics, aiming for a durable material made only from natural, plastic-free ingredients.

How it's made

Natural ingredients such as plant oils, natural rubber and plant fibres are blended and cured, without plastic binders or coatings. The material can be textured, coloured and finished to suit different leather looks.

Composed of 100% plant-based materials without plastics. Ingredients include natural fibers, vegetable oils, and resins, all designed to be biodegradable and compostable at the end of life.

Durable, flexible, and customizable with a leather-like texture. Mirum™ is entirely plastic-free, making it a unique option among plant leathers. It offers a high level of performance and durability while being biodegradable.
